Break Bulk

Break Bulk cargo refers to a variety of goods that are transported in many forms including cases, drums, crates, or bails. KKIL offers nearly 20 years of Break Bulk stevedoring experience guaranteeing our customers' satisfaction. KKIL stevedores have successfully handled a variety of break bulk products including pulp, lumber, and wind turbines with a history of safety and quality control unmatched on the Great Lakes.

KKIL has facilitated movements to import European pulp supplying Midwest mills while also exporting U.S. pulp supplying European mills. At peak, these movements reached nearly 200,000 tons annually.

KKIL served as a Midwest distribution center for several years for a European lumber manufacturer. KKIL received and discharged vessels and provided and arranged trucking services for Just-In-Time delivery to over 50 Midwest region locations.

KKIL has also provided stevedoring services for the wind industry over the last several shipping seasons.
